I'm aware that when posting revisions, the title in the subject field should reflect this (eg: My Pome Rev 2) and I'm aware that when posting the poem to the message field, one can include a link to a previous version. What I was wondering though, is there some vB code that would allow you to display the two versions side by side, similar to a word table?
Sorta like...
1st poem here2nd poem here

Sorry, Scotty, but I have to wonder why you'd want to accost your reader in such a fashion? Why not just a) have a link to the previous draft or b) Post them in the same window with the newer version on top?
Or are you just curious if it can be done?

Hi Tedward,
just curious mainly - I've done both (a) and (b) and I thought that some pieces might lend themselves to easier comparisons if they were side by side.
Mary had a litle lamb,                         Mary had a little lamb,
its fleece was black as charcoal.         her father shot it dead.
Every time it jumped the fence,         It followed her to school next day
You'd see its little arsehole.                   between two bits of bread.
You can do it (sorta) by using plenty of nbsp but you then have to preview several times because line length makes a difference to the number of times you have to use it.

...perhaps print them out to compare them, or open each in a new window and place them beside each other on screen.
But I agree it sometimes is easier to see and understand the changes when you can follow both at the same time.
Cheers
Roge
HTML is disabled, so unfortunately you can't just code up a table. Using the nbsp is going to look different with different fonts, so if you're really intent on putting two poems side by side, you might want to type them up side by side with a fixed width font and then post them with the code tags to preserve the spacing.
