I've done some searching around on Amazon and seen a number of books on how to write a good query letter and effective synopsis, but I'm hesitant to invest in them sight unseen. I'm two hours from the nearest bookstore and our local library is quite small.
As I've said before, when it comes to the business end of writing, I'm all thumbs and have no idea how to compose the kind of letter that would make a publisher or agent want to see an excerpt of my work. I seem to suffer from a peculiar form of writers block when it comes to business correspondence of any kind. As this is probably the most important step in getting published and I'm going to be sending out lots of them, I don't want to waste very muchtime doing it wrong.
Does anyone out there have any recommendations with respect to useful books on this subject?
Thanks
mary
