I take the point that was made some time back by Harry (I think) about nothing being posted in Picks because of the new process that is being formulated. However, I still have to mention the thread started by Brianis:)atYou where he posted a
haiku (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21958&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) which received the most detailed and instructive analysis I've ever seen a haiku get on these boards. It most certainly, IMO, belongs in either the haiku blurbs or the Picks of the Litter crit section. I'd hate that most useful thread to get lost in the recesses of the boards.

I wanted to express my thanks to BrianisSmilingatYou for the constructive and thoughtful way he has managed this thread.

I have found his responses to detailed, informative and thought-provoking, everything that I might expect of a crit indeed, rather than from the poet in explanation.

His explanations have, I beleive, enabled me to understand the nature of the 'poetic muse,' at least as it is when the same muse sometimes smacks me around the head. I see this helping greatly as I search for the clarity of vision and expression that I have come to think of as the 'voice,' that I wish to use.

At least now, I know what that voice might be...I can at last hear something of it echoing in my head, and for that Brian has my vast and humble thanks.

I think it's an interesting thread. There was a lot of exchanging of ideas, analysis and understanding of poetry terms and of Haiku. To me, that's what respectable workshopping is all about. Despite what one's personal opinion is on Haiku, I think Brian did a good job in the way he presented his.
