Someone compared me to this writer and then I read some of her work and I think she's really good. I just wanted to see if anyone shared the same views or has maybe read her before?

I think she's an interesting writer.

Lucille Clifton (http://www.stedwards.edu/hum/drummond/clifton.html) is wonderful, I think the comparsion (as I read it) was a subject matter type of deal -- not your style -- (not trying to be mean but you've years to go). And that's the fun part that you have an opportunity to work on-line in a community like this and to read...I would have loved this at your age.
I'd suggest these books, Quilting & Blessing the Boats. She's more than an interesting writer she's the type of writer you can learn from.
More (http://www.geometry.net/authors/clifton_lucille.php) & more (http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/1107/p19s01-bogn.html).
Happy hunting & good luck.

Yeah I don't think my style is like Lucille Clifton far from it. I still have a long way to go:P lol. But I do like her writing. I've only been serious about poetry for a couple months now, though i've been writing for quite some time. I don't expect too much. Its not mean its honest and if you can't take honesty you're not going to get anywhere. Years is what I have so i'm not all that offended. I'm only 15. I do love this place, it helps me more and more :). Thanks for suggestions of the book.
