I was browsing away reading this (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23739&poems) , and in particular the reading suggestions that HowardM2 mentioned. Anyway, I'm not au-fait with many of those names, so I rushed off to have a look, and found Here (http://www.poets.org/poets/index.cfm) , which probably has been mentioned before, but surely deserves another link.
WOW. So many lovely, interesting, new, and free things to read. Hurrah!

I suddenly thought (not having a baby on lap any more) about this, and realised that you've probably already all been trillions of times to sites like this anyway, and are thinking something on the lines of:
"Why is the silly woman cluttering up our nice forum like this". Let alone boggling that I haven't heard of many of these poets.
The reason is that I haven't read a great deal of contemporary poetry (especially American Poetry - my 'contemporary american poetry' anthology is a good twenty years old) so I get quite excited when I find free access to it. Too excited. So I go posty-posty.
I will try to curb my enthusiasm before everyone leaps on my head and tells me off. In the meantime, apologies.

Yes, this is the site of the American Academy of Poetry, a fun place to visit. It's been mentioned before, but there's nothing wrong with mentioning it again.
Have you found Plagiarist.com (http://www.plagiarist.com)?

Poemhunter dot com (http://poemhunter.com/) is useful, too, if a bit ugly.

Ooooh, lovely. They're wonderful. Thank-you so much. I'm just looking at Jared Carter (who was on the front page - but then you've got to start somewhere). This (http://plagiarist.com/poetry/) is lovely, I think - simple imagery, nice interesting idea, all nice and compact. I'm not so sure about the two villanelles I've just read, though. Has the world suddenly gone 'villanelle crazy'?
And ooooh to Luminarium. Ooooooooh. I've only got the Gawain Poet, Chaucer, and Langland (and I've found Langland a bit difficult, to be honest). Middle English plays. Cool. Wow. Ta.
