I just wanted to ask the moderators some questions...

I joined yesterday and made some posts, followed your guidlines and tried to respond to as many posts as possible as well as posting my work however it seems someone didn't like that and decided to delete my user account and all my posts.

I am not going to question your reasons as its obvious someone has an ego problem otherwise as the sites title suggests "Poetry Free For All" - my posts would not have been deleted.

If I had broken one of your godly rules then you could at least have the cuertosy to email me and advise me that I had broken some rule - nope my account was simply deleted, nice one!

No doubt you will delete this account and remove my post before someone reads it.. have a think about that before you silence my words again...

You were banned after you carpetbombed the board with some 8-10 pieces of yours in the "General" forum and after a moderator had posted a message for you to read the rules (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11131&poems) so you would know what you were doing wrong. When it became apparent that you had no intention of abiding by the rules, you were banned. It's that simple.

We have strict rules and they are strictly enforced. We expect those who post here to make a clear effort to find out what those rules are. That may not be to your liking. So be it. there are over 2,000 poetry boards on the internet; I'm sure you can find several more to your taste.

And it's "Poetry Free-For-All," not "Poetry Free For All"; there's a significant distinction.

Thank you for replying...

As for the rules, I was reading through them when I posted, again as I stated an email or a private message would not have gone amiss.

Unfortunately I did not read the post addressed to me otherwise I would have realized that I was breaking the rules. You are obviously having a bad day so I will leave it at that and take my work somewhere else.

I apologise if I have offended your precious board and your members, have a nice life.

No, you didn't follow the guidelines and it was you who was discourteous. You were PMed by a moderator after you wallpapered the forums with your poetry, disregarding the "one poem per forum per day" guideline. The only way to get your attention, it seems, was to ban you.

It's your responsibility to read and follow the guidelines; it's not ours to hold your hand.

It's not "Poetry, free for all", it's a moderated poetry free-for-all. The hyphens make the difference.

If this is any indication of how you're going to behave (me, me, me!), then we might as well just ban you again. I suggest if you want another chance, you check your own ego, review the guidelines and follow them. Otherwise, this will be a waste of your time and ours.

One more thing: read the forum descriptions. You posted lyrics to the General Poetry forum. We have a songwriter's forum; had you looked (again) before you posted, you'd have found it.

Okay,

I would like to apologise... being so used to the dumbed down way of posting on many forums I made the mistake of not reading the rules and simply posted away.

I have taken the time to go through the site and I understand what this forum is. If you thought my post was too lyrical thats fine, its not for everyone however after reading through some of the work on this site I can appreciate that people are trying to learn to write creatively.

If you feel you need to ban me then do so by all means, I agree I was being rude and thats down to my emotions getting the better of me.

Thanks,

Donner

Gee, you're still here. Why am I not surprised? I've merged the two threads to save time and trouble.

You stated at the bottom of the post that I deleted that the piece was "lyrics". I assumed you meant song lyrics, not that the piece was "lyrical". There's a difference.

If you can follow the guidelines and post here in the spirit the forums were intended (i.e., as a workshop for those who are interesting in improving their craft (http://www.everypoet.org)), then I see no reason why you can't participate. Understand, though, that you're on our short list for the time being and if you let your emotions get the better of you again, we won't hesitate to ban you, and for the final time. We don't have the time to put up with tantrums and egos when there are plenty of other places where you can post to your heart's content.

Do we understand each other?
