Hello, I am a novice with writing poetry and will be spending the majority of my time on the General Poetry Forum. I just registered with PFFA and look forward to posting and participating. Thank you for the information in the guidelines and orientation. Though nervous (and excited), I look forward to practical suggestions.

Hello Aleta

Welcome to PFFA!

Here are a couple of practical suggestions:

1) Check out the Blurbs of Wisdom Forum
2) Also check out the "Picks of the Litter" forums for examples of exemplary critiques and poetry.
3) Keep in mind when you post a piece that you should post 3 crits for every poem that you post.
4) Also keep in mind, when someone offers a critique of one of your pieces, that no one is being paid to do this, no one is a professional critic, and the variety and quality of critiques will cover a broad spectrum.

In line with this, if someone says something that you don't like on a piece that you post, keep your cool, and still say "Thanks".

Good luck!
