Hi everyone,

This is the first time ive given my poetic attempts a public showing so any constructice comments will be greatfully received. I will be posting in the "Another General C&C".

Some the poets I admire are Carolyn Forche, Phillip Larkin and Oscar Wilde.

I look forward to peoples thoughts and ideas, and posting my own crits on peoples work.

Kind regards

Andyp

Don't forget to read the New Posters' Orientation and the Posting Guidelines. Also, you'll need to study this thread and the link it contains (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21283&poems) to understand the kind of detailed and extensive critiques you will be expected to provide to others' work in the "General C&C" forums.

Hi Andyp,

warm welcome to PFFA.

watch your spelling and punctuation if you want critters to take you seriously - I've, constructive, gratefully, people's.

I raise a glass of Larkin to you:

Water

If I were called in
To construct a religion
I should make use of water.

Going to church
Would entail a fording
To dry, different clothes;

My liturgy would employ
Images of sousing,
A furious devout drench,

And I should raise in the east
A glass of water
Where any-angled light
Would congregate endlessly.

Good luck,

Jee Leong
