Hello everyone! I am new here. You can call me shimmz. Well, a friend linked me to this website and now i'm really interested. I do write a lot...mainly philosophical-type poetry. I thought it would be interesting to join and see what the rest of the world thought of my work. Guess I'm about to find out!

Hi shimmz,

Make sure you are aware of PFFA's New Poster's Orientation (http://everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?threadid=11138&poems), which is of utmost importance for new posters to read.

Of all the online poetry workshops I've seen, this is in my opinion, the best. It offers critiquing to all skill levels, which actually allows us to, with time, improve from one level to the next.

Hi, Welcome, etc. -

Philosophical poetry provides all sorts of opportunities from the farcical to ponderous.

However - you need to remember that you are posting to a workshop where "seeing what the rest of the world thinks of your work" is only part of what goes on. You're also expected to offer critique to other writers and to work to improve your own material.

There are all sorts of guidelines and a full library of material (the Blurbs of Wisdom) on matters that concern the craft of poetry. Please take advantage of them and enjoy yourself.
