Considering my own writing, I'm not sure I should be criticizing anybody right now, but here is my newbie question:
Several times I have tried to comment on poems submitted by people who just didn't know English. I don't want to be rude, since English wasn't the first language in my home when I was growing up either. Anybody at least deserves a chance to try; so I'm looking for another way to handle it.
For example, can anyone recommend poets who actually used their secondary knowledge of English to advantage? I don't know if that's a stretch, but I think it could be interesting.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
