Hi, Just a quick introduction by myself to yourselfs. My name is Steve, 21 from Maine, USA.
I've been writing for about 3 years now and I like to write in a way that makes me feel good. I like to live by rule that there are no rules in poetry, so my poetry may seem strange to you and even to me sometimes, but it is my way of getting my voice heard. :)
Looking forward in talking to you all.

Steve, welcome, there are rules and you must know them to break them ... perhaps pop down to the Blurbs of Wisdom (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=34) and check out a thread called "What if I want to write for myself".
Good luck.

You might want to check out the Pink Palace (link in the upper right-hand corner), and be sure you check out the site in-depth before you jump in with both feet--you won't get the most out of your experience here if you don't understand how the site functions or if you're posting at cross-purposes. PFFA isn't for everyone as we put improvement of the craft of writing first; it's not a place to showcase your work. If you're writing for yourself, you can write however makes you feel good. However, when you're presenting your work to an audience in a workshop such as PFFA, your "feelgood" poetry is going to get examined under a microscope. If you're not prepared for that and don't wish that done to your work, then I wouldn't choose to post here.

Hi Steve,
Welcome to PFFA. This is the hardest working site I know of and we take the technicalities of poetic craft oh so seriously. Many newcomers get very offended when their "expressions" of themselves don't seem to be understood. If you are really attached to your "rule" that there are no rules, you won't be finding an ally here. There are many such kafuffles in the Outside forum, you may want to peruse so you know what does not go over well here. The Pink Palace site that has been recommended is very different though, you can showcase, express and go by your own rules to your heart's content. Everypoet has strived to provide a place for whatever writing muse you are comfortable with, only you know your best niche.

Okay, thanks for the heads up guys :)
I didn't mean to offend with my 'rule' breaking comment, erm the best way to say what I ment is that I'm always looking for new ways to write something, trying different forms etc.
:)
