Hello, obviously I'm new. I'm ready to improve. (lol) Anyways, I've been writing poetry for a while now for a couple of years so I just decided to join a community. Bye

Welcome,

Don't forget to go through all the forums to see what they're about, don't forget that for each poem you post you owe three critiques and have fun!

My suggestion would be to read as much poetry as you can, classic, contemporary, metric and free and then get a few good books on poetry as well as reading through this site's:

Blurbs of Wisdom (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=34)

Here are some good sites to read at:

The Alsop Review (http://www.alsopreview.com/) read the Poets, Noted and Collections

The Poem Tree (http://www.poemtree.com/)

Poem Hunter (http://poemhunter.com/)

Plagiarist.com (http://www.plagiarist.com/)

Poetry Daily, the archives (http://www.poems.com/)

The Academy of American Poets (http://www.poets.org/)

Verse Daily, the archives (http://www.versedaily.com/)

Ploughshares (http://www.pshares.org/)

Some good books on poetry are:
