Well I just wanted to say that I have been here for awhile but I am definitely still new lol I want to thank some of the mods for the help I have received and for the many things in Blurbs that have changed my whole perspective of poetry. I am amazed at the knowledge I have received here and althou some of it was painful to learn I am so happy that I have.
Now I have a question is there a topic here that gives the newbie some information on some of the mods or the ppl that have been around awhile? I can tell for the most part that alot of the people here know exactly what they are talking about and I listen well, but I would really like to know what education background, work, ect. do some of our mods and the like have? I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes or prose hehe I am just curious and want to make sure that the information I get is accurate; sometimes we newbies don’t even know when we don’t know enough! lol as I am sure you can tell by our first poems.
A special note for Howard as what I have read from him or about him shows me this man knows his poetry!! And I take everything he has to say as my poetry gospel lol
Also a note to Carol as she spent some time going over my work and helped me out tremendously, Thank you again Carol.
Ok well that is all from me for now, Thank you all for a wonderful site and for showing me that poetry was so much more.

Hi Nexxa; welcome to PFFA.

If you're just curious, I'd try the Amplifier for people's poetry. Some people might have bits of information on their backgrounds and "work" up there. (I'm only guessing, though; I haven't read around in there.)

If you want to see certain posters' poems, use the Search function. If you want to find out about someone's educational background, I suppose you could PM them and see if they respond.

But this concerns me:
I can tell for the most part that alot of the people here know exactly what they are talking about and I listen well, but I would really like to know what education background, work, ect. do some of our mods and the like have? I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes or prose hehe I am just curious and want to make sure that the information I get is accurate; sometimes we newbies don’t even know when we don’t know enough!
If you think that only PFFA users with certain educational backgrounds (or any educational background at all, come to think of it) or a certain amount of published work (what I assume you mean by "work") give "accurate information," then you're closing yourself off to a wealth of knowledge.

May I suggest that you don't take anyone's word as the Definitive Source on Poetry? Gather ideas from other users, sure, but don't rely on others for "accurate information." Educate yourself.

Hope you enjoy it here.

Thank you Jordana for your reply and just to clear up what I meant was along with education and work what do some of the writers know that add to everyone's knowledge, I hope that makes sense lol I realize that you don’t have to be a teacher to write good poetry or give good advice you could be a store clerk for all that matters but you may be a store clerk that has written and learned tons of information about poetry and therefore your knowledge is greater then mine. I am just interested to know how people have got from point a to point b.
I have been writing poetry for many years myself but until know never knew all the in's and out's of the craft. I thought poetry was an enlightened form of saying what’s on your mind and to my family and friends I am the master poet ;) but come to find out although I may be enlightened in the mystical sense I was very unenlightened in the grammatical sense and for good poetry you really have to have both.
Anyway I hope that clears it up, and yes I will check out the Amplifier.
Thanks again
