On-line publishing.

I saw a book today re - online publishing. Far too expensive to buy. At the back it had listed 300 sites which pay authors to publish on-line. I would like to build up my links to similar sites. Please post any links to these type of sites and other research sites that may help in understanding on-line publishing.
