You can post poems. You can receive comments, which you can delete if they're not thoroughly complimentary. I've posted there under a nom de guerre and received horrifyingly enthusiatic comments on the tripe I spent five minutes writing while drunk. PostPoems is fun if you enjoy laughing at really bad poetry. It's just a fluffier version of the Pink Palace, really.

I clicked your link, on a lark, looked at one poem, then read the personal profile of one of the moderators. I quote from his personal bio: "flesh, inmate of a cubical prison spirit..."
I figured out right away that it wasn't garyg.

What are the affiliate groups? I find that a bit sinister.
I just posted something there. Now I feel guilty. I feel like I cheated on Pffa. One night stands are never worth it. I have bought the board some flowers.http://www.dubina.com/Fundsnet/images/flowers.gif Sorry Pffa.

Now this place is amazing.
Take a look at this, a poet's reply to his critics at this site, one of whom had said she felt intimidated because he was so intelligent etc... (doesn't mean he can spell "parallel" though):

Because that "a" can surely be the only thing wrong with poem of such splendour.

Go on then, you twisted my arm.

Monk, we'll only forgive you if you bring wine and chocolate, as well.

Actually I am in a bit of a huff with the board since Donner gave me a harsh crit (http://www.everypoet.org/pffa/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26007). I might just take my flowers back and sulk.

OK, you asked for it. The poem is by someone known as seinundzeit.

Well, fine.
We didn't want your bloody flowers anyway.
I mean, er, it's a lovely picture. Don't mind Donner - she must be having one of those days.

I enjoyed the irony of this statement. Let me explain.
The history of postpoems.com is an interesting one. The creator of the website is one Jason Minton, who in 2000 needed to undertake a project to help him complete his degree in IT (I think that was his subject). Our Jason decided to code up a bulletin board style website. He then decided he needed to test the robustness of the code.
This led to his entrance into the newsgroups in 2000, in particular rec.arts.poems. Continuously, Our Jason would post comments to poems and comments on other comments, all with the aim of drumming up business for his new website - yes, you've guessed it, Our Jason had chosen to beta-test his code on poets!
During the many exchanges over that long, wet spring and summer of 2000, Jason would take almost orgasmic pleasure in informing us all that he had no interest in poetry, had not even thought of writing a poem before reaching rec.arts.poems, and had no intention whatsoever to promote poetry to the wider masses - postpoems was just a testbed from which he would leap to glory as a highly paid webcoder. Us poets were merely to be fodder on his path to greater glory!
(On a tangent, when you visit postpoems you will be greeted with the following text: Our Mission: To promote and support the arts, artists, poets, writers and affiliate groups of PostPoems by providing electronic forums, electronic and hard copy publications. To work in cooperation with writer's and arts organizations including non profit organizations. To stimulate public awareness of the arts through educational programs for the PostPoems community, while encompassing the concept that the arts can be appreciated by all people. The laughter now echoing around my little work cubicle is entirely hollow).
Anyways, things turned ugly when Our Jason started to repost poems originally posted on his website to the newsgroup, inviting comments from the regulars. He always maintained that he had the author's permission to do this, but I for one never believed him. My views on his practices can be read at
this link (http://www.google.com/groups?q=g:thl4109590503d&dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&selm=397CB165.MD-1.4.4.rikroots%40enterprise.net), and there is a further link on that webpage if you want to read the entire thread (of over 130 posts). Now I hope people can see why I found Howard's comment a touch ironic!
The bottom line is that I would advise people to avoid postpoems.com like the bum's rash. If you are looking for a postpoems type environment, then I'd suggest the Pink Palace of Poetitude - because at least PPoP was set up by people who have some respect for the greater poetry community!

If that's postpoems.com, I'd hate to see what the prepoems look like.

Oh oh...
And sorry, Howard. Wasn't thinking.
Rik - thanks for that inside story. Sounds like a site to stay away from, from now on.

I like the idea of being able to delete certain critiques, only after a careful mental revision of poem of course.
I think PFFA should create an ignore button so that we are able to prevent certain people from giving a crit. That's quite different from blatantly wiping out other's comments.
OOh the power in one little button !

We do have an ignore function. It won't prevent people from posting to your poems, but you won't see their crits. Everyone else will be able to, of course, and might wonder why you're not reacting.

Thanks for that Harry.
Now I’m letting my fingers do the walking around this site.
Government Health Warning to any person who feels tempted to say:
“You don’t deserve a critique, so I’m not going to give you one.”
You are wasting your precious time.
